Dandelion Gauntlets

Dandelion Gauntlets are knitted in the round using a two-colour stranded technique in natural shades of pure wool, creating a cosy, bouncy texture and an elegant geometric design.

The stitch patterns are inspired by a sample of a stalk from a Dandelion plant that I viewed under my microscope and then turned first into a drawing and then into stitches.

The long. simple construction helps to avoid draughty gaps up the sleeves and keep most of the hand warm without the complication of thumb shaping.

I hope that you find it a satisfying knit with a mix of manual dexterity and flow.

Finished Measurements

Two sizes are available.

They are both 26cm (10 ¼  inches) long and designed to fit hands with a circumference of 18-19cm (7.0 – 7.5 inches) for the first size and 19.5-20.5cm (7.75 -8.25 inches) for the  second size.

Suggested Yarn

I used West Yorkshire Spinners Fleece Jacob DK.

Any DK would work for this pattern but natural wool suits stranded knitting very well due to its fuzzy quality and tendency for the fibres to mesh into the fabric
